About ACYO
The company will be based in London with the intention of setting up small offices in the countries where the programmes operate should the need arise.
Provide a website service for the youth of this particular group and provide access to services via a Website Portal for Employment, Training Education, Apprenticeship, Housing,Mentoring/Counselling, Music/ Art, Finance & Sport, and Entrepreneurial.
This Community Interest Company will form relationships and partnerships with other companies/individuals & agencies focusing also on partnerships with black businesses in the UK to offer the above opportunities to the Subscriber.
The idea is to have a centralised portal for them to subscribe to for free the request to join the network to kickstart the future for that individual. The site will display a wealth of information at that person’s fingertips and will provide access to courses, jobs, apprenticeships and sports and more….
The organisation’s focus is to promote social inclusion of the Children of BLACK AFRICAN, WEST INDIAN and Mixed-Race heritage in England and Wales who are socially excluded due to financial hardship, unemployment, race, or ethnic origin, by helping to direct them to develop new practical and social skills in order to become outstanding members of society.
We have also created The ACYO Programme which is a mentoring programme and the backbone of the company. We will select a few subscribers who fit the criteria from the applications to the project and offer the opportunity to sign up for access to all our programmes. This project will also include a residential to spend a few weeks at one of our prestigious schools in Africa or The Caribbean to experience a different curriculum and help kickstart their future by experiencing their heritage.
The ACYO program itself will last for 2 years for that individual and will include Work Experience, Support for exam studies/ preparation, mentoring, career advice, housing and financial guidance for individuals between the ages of 14-18 years old. These ACYO individuals will also get to experience the difference between studying at one of our prestige oversea schools in the West Indies and Africa as students in a 1-2 week residential.
The ACYO programme will last for 2 years minimum with continued support should the aspirant require it and will include support in areas like careers, finance, housing, counselling etc. The applicants to the programme will be parents who are on benefits and who are working. The organisation will seek to fund the programme through donations and government funding,
The ACYO programme will seek to give these individuals the to experience the quality of education in another country whilst also enjoying the benefits of being in a black foreign country where their families have originated away from the obstacles and stereotypes that they face on a day-to-day basis in England.
ACYO strongly believes that obtaining an education in black history and experiencing what the curriculum is like in another black country gives that child the background knowledge of where they originate which we believe will allow them to understand the opportunities that they have now, which will believe will contribute towards empowering them to become whatever they want to be.
We want to work with the schools in all the countries, so that alongside experiencing the Foreign School Curriculum, they are also learning their own School Curriculum which we believe will give them an advantage and the knowledge they need to succeed back home.
We believe that not only will the Youth benefit from experiencing this alternative, but the parents back in their home countries will also benefit by feeling confident that they are giving their child a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The parents themselves will be able to use the time to focus on themselves and their families who have been severely affected by the behaviour of the Youth, thus giving them a chance to even seek career progression and education themselves.
We want our business partners to become ACYO affiliated and offer their services to these subscribers through the ACYO website so the individual will have instant access to the below areas. Eg Apprenticeship, Jobs, Educational Courses, Sports, Housing, Music, and Finance. The government offers to fund for apprenticeships so the businesses involved will not only benefit financially but also contribute towards helping our youths in the community.
ACYO also wants to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the children of African and Caribbean Background disadvantaged communities of England in such a way that we are better able to identify, help to meet their needs and to participate more fully in society. The Internet is the most powerful tool and through it, we will be able to reach some of our most vulnerable and help them to make better choices.
ACYO wants to promote the educational advancement of African and Caribbean Youth by improving their financial position and life chances by alleviating poverty. Especially if they have been affected by the Covid 19 Pandemic.
A Global Vision for Youth Growth
ACYOs main ETHOS is to provide change to the lives of black and Mixed-Race children around the UK and worldwide who are currently failing or need additional support. We want a portal which acts as a one-stop shop/directory for access to support and services which will be at their fingertips.
We want to help support those Youth with career progression and opportunities once they have completed their studies should point them in the right direction.
We want to help and support young people with education, job opportunities and support who are also on the brink of being expelled from school and provide help to them and their families to prevent them from becoming excluded from society.
The hosting Countries will benefit in many different ways should they choose to become an international exchange student:

The decision to stop funding the Youth Centres in the country had a knock-on effect as these were a place for young people to get together socially whilst also obtaining help and support in education and employment.
The knock-on effect https://www.theguardian.com/law/stop-and-search led to children hanging out more on the roads and the rise in Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour Laws. `
In the UK knife crime is soaring and although we believe that black children are not solely to blame, we believe that they do contribute to some degree due to the specific social and economical constraints. In the US it’s the same frame of mind. We want to stop gang violence and start a new gang of educated black people who will become civil members of society their societies or even greater.
We believe specifically those children who are 3rd generation ‘Windrush’ in the UK need a lot of attention and we want to help our future generations become civil members of society. We aim to seek funding as a community interest company to support these young people to get educated, get jobs and achieve their goals so if they are athletes, artists, scientists or mathematicians, they will achieve that goals.
To be negotiated in line with each school’s policy on fees, accommodation and transport.
Funding: – The Organisation has been set up to obtain funding and provide support to Parents who seek extra ways of educating their children. The ACYO programme will prioritise those children in extreme poverty and or those who are facing imminent incarceration for petty crime or affected by Covid 19, the opportunity to have a ‘fresh start’ away from the everyday pressures they face (peer pressure, internet, social media etc) to embrace education and set them on the correct path into career progression.
The Organisation will look to seek funding for fees/travel expenses/insurance.
The Organization will look to seek funding for education & employment advancement or start-up business ideas from young people with innovative ideas.
Special Circumstances: – Each application for the programme will be considered on its own merit and we believe that those in some special circumstances may need to take priority over others.
The Community Interest Company wants to Seek partnerships with Airlines Hotels ECT Famous People, Influencers Businesses Sponsors those personal sponsors and schools.
Promotion and Marketing will be through all social networking platforms and websites and influential people.
In the above case, the Mother explains that she sent her son to Jamaica and was doing well before he came back to England.
Below we have the celebrities in England looking for answers and although there are some viable solutions. We believe education back home in a black country will help build their Identities as individuals. If not we believe providing support through education and employment in England will help them with their future goals and prospects.
ACYO also wants to help with the relief of financial hardship, and unemployment and the advancement of education, training or retraining. Particularly among unemployed young people of African and Caribbean Backgrounds and provide unemployed young people in this group with work experience and employment opportunities.
